Margie Marie Henderson, 85, former resident of Barnsdall, died at 9:35 PM on Friday in the Skiatook Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday in the Barnsdall Assembly of God Church with Pastor Phil Clements officiating. Interment will be in the Ethel Reece Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff-Barnsdall Funeral Home.
Margie Marie Henderson was born July 4, 1925 at Bixby, Oklahoma to Alec and Irene (True) Forbes. She was raised and educated in the Avant, Oklahoma area, graduating from Avant High School in 1944. Mrs. Henderson was married to Millard Dean “Bud” Henderson on December 19, 1943 at Skiatook. Following Mr. Henderson’s return from military service, they made their home in Kansas and western Oklahoma for 12 years with Mr. Henderson’s employment with Cities Service Oil Company. They lived for a number of years in Northeastern Oklahoma, Lindsay, Ada and Seminole areas of Oklahoma. After Mr. Henderson’s retirement in 1982 they returned to Barnsdall to make their home. Mrs. Henderson was employed for several years with the Osage Nutrition Project until her retirement. She was a member of Barnsdall Assembly of God Church. Mr. Henderson preceded her in death on January 1, 1999.
Survivors include; her son Wayne D. Henderson and his wife Elizabeth Ann of Skiatook, Oklahoma; two granddaughters Holly Jo Henderson and her husband Chad Buckwalter of Walnut Shade, Missouri and Heather Ann Hayne and her husband Kelly Hayne; one grandson Christopher Dean Henderson and his wife Krissi; one brother Burl Forbes and one sister Opal Griffith both of Skiatook; nine great-grandchildren Gabe Plank of Edmond, Haleigh Plank and Chloe Plank of Walnut Shade, Missouri, Kamryn Hayne and Eli Hayne of Tulsa, Madelynn Henderson, Macy Henderson, Mallory Henderson and Mason Henderson all of Pawhuska.
